Gary Jones is a British-born Canadian actor known for his recurring role as CM Sgt. Walter Harriman in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis. He has also made guest appearances on such shows as Sliders, Cold Squad, The Outer Limits, Andromeda and Dead Like Me.
Gary Jones was a member of the improv group “Mission Improvable”, which had a CBC comedy special, before his role on Stargate SG-1. He joined Toronto’s Second City Improv Company in the mid-1980s.
Gary Jones is not only known for acting on screen and stage but also for hosting events, including several Leo Awards galas and the BCSS Emerald Eve gala.

Stargate is a science fiction franchise based on the film directed by Roland Emmerich, which he co-wrote with producer Dean Devlin. It is based around the idea of an alien Einstein–Rosen bridge device (the Stargate) that enables nearly instantaneous travel across the stars. Beginning with the film Stargate, released on October 28, 1994. It was followed in 1997, Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner who created a television series called Stargate SG-1 as a sequel to the film which ran for 10 series. This was joined by Stargate Atlantis in 2004, Stargate Universe in 2009, and a prequel web series, Stargate Origins, in 2018. There are also two direct-to-DVD movies Stargate: Children of the Gods, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum.
