Joe Flanigan known as the star of Stargate Atlantis playing the role of Colonel John Sheppard which went into international syndication with 100 episodes.
He started his career in politics working as an advance man at the White House. That was followed by a stint at Andy Warhol’s Interview magazine until finally settling At Sanford Meisner’s Neighborhood Playhouse in New York.
He has been cast in several NBC projects and was under contract there as a series regular for NBC ‘Sisters’ alongside Sela Ward and Swoosie Kurtz. This was followed with another series regular role in Don Bellisario’s First Monday on CBS starring Charles Durning & Joe Mantegna. He was also cast in Garry Marshal’s The Other Sister alongside Diane Keaton, Juliette Lewis, and Giovanni Ribisi.
Some of Joe’s other TV credits include multiple recurring roles on Dawson’s Creek, Cupid, Providence, Profiler, and Women’s Murder Club
Currently Joe just finished multiple episodes on the second and third season of Apple’s TV show SEE with Jason Momoa.

Stargate is a science fiction franchise based on the film directed by Roland Emmerich, which he co-wrote with producer Dean Devlin. It is based around the idea of an alien Einstein–Rosen bridge device (the Stargate) that enables nearly instantaneous travel across the stars. Beginning with the film Stargate, released on October 28, 1994. It was followed in 1997, Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner who created a television series called Stargate SG-1 as a sequel to the film which ran for 10 series. This was joined by Stargate Atlantis in 2004, Stargate Universe in 2009, and a prequel web series, Stargate Origins, in 2018. There are also two direct-to-DVD movies Stargate: Children of the Gods, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum.
