Rachel Luttrell is an accomplished actress and singer who has worked in film, television, and on stage, best known for her role as Teyla Emmagan, an Athosian warrior leader on Stargate Atlantis.
Her first film role while still in high school, playing Billy Dee Williams’s daughter in the made-for-television movie Courage (1986), which also starred Sophia Loren.
Rachel also appeared in Anne Rice’s critically acclaimed TV movie The Feast of All Saints (2001), in which she played Peter Gallagher’s daughter in a cast that also included Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Beals, and Ossie Davis. Later that same year, she appeared in a small but memorable role in the feature film Impostor (2001), opposite Gary Sinise.
In 2011, Rachel completed her first CD titled “I Wish You Love,” on which she collaborated with world-renowned percussionist Jeff Hamilton and stand-up bass virtuoso Jennifer Leitham.
After Stargate: Atlantis finished, Rachel made guest appearances on True Justice, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles , No Sleep Till 18 and Arrow.
She can currently be seen in The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special.

Stargate is a science fiction franchise based on the film directed by Roland Emmerich, which he co-wrote with producer Dean Devlin. It is based around the idea of an alien Einstein–Rosen bridge device (the Stargate) that enables nearly instantaneous travel across the stars. Beginning with the film Stargate, released on October 28, 1994. It was followed in 1997, Brad Wright and Jonathan Glassner who created a television series called Stargate SG-1 as a sequel to the film which ran for 10 series. This was joined by Stargate Atlantis in 2004, Stargate Universe in 2009, and a prequel web series, Stargate Origins, in 2018. There are also two direct-to-DVD movies Stargate: Children of the Gods, Stargate: The Ark of Truth, and Stargate: Continuum.
